Lime
We used runners’ data to unlock discovery. Through a Strava integration, run distance was converted into free Lime minutes, allowing runners to explore the city in one direction while Lime took them back.
The problem
Since e-scooters entered our cities, they have often been associated with convenience and laziness rather than movement and discovery.
At the same time, runners face a practical limitation. Most runs need to start and end in the same place, which leads to repeated routes and limits exploration, despite a clear desire to vary training and discover new areas.
The insight
Runners want to explore new areas but are limited by the need to get back home. Since they already track their runs, we turned that data into a solution, transforming Lime into an enabler of movement rather than an alternative to it.
The idea
We used runners’ data to unlock discovery.
By integrating Strava with Lime through a campaign platform, runners could upload their latest run and have their distance automatically converted into free Lime minutes, enough to cover the ride home. This removed the logistical barrier to trying new routes and allowed runners to explore the city in one direction, knowing Lime would take them back, while bringing Lime’s brand promise, freedom to move, to life.
"This idea shows how we can leverage existing movement data in a new context to demonstrate Lime’s brand promise, freedom of movement. By turning physical effort into real mobility, Lime becomes an enabler of movement rather than an alternative to it.”
